JumpStart Solutions, LLC is a technology developer and marketer of software solutions to enhance knowledge-based decision-making.
In September 2006 it announced its PanOptica suite of business intelligence and knowledge management tools.
The PanOptica tool sets are built on technologies developed over several years by NASA for the development and management of large, complex projects, such as the Mars
Exploration Rover. PanOptica offers customers’ a cost-effective, scalable, easy to use suite of tools to manage projects, portfolios and knowledge bases and documents.
JumpStart Solutions provides comprehensive services and support for the deployment and training of PanOptica.
Management Biographies
The two principals of JumpStart Solutions are seasoned entrepreneurs, each with over 30 years’ experience in leadership roles in technology, finance, strategy, and organizational transformation. Both are repeat CEOs.
Jim Goulka
Mr. Goulka has led six organizations through significant transitions over the past decade. Among these are two technology start-ups, a digital and print publisher, a university-sponsored facilitator of technology transfer between the federal government and the private sector, a not-for profit foundation, and an accredited school of architecture. Earlier in his career he was a Chief Financial Officer and, for over twenty years, he was a corporate finance specialist at parts of what are today Citigroup and JP Morgan Chase. He has done business outside of the US, either as a senior executive, a board member, or serving clients, in 25 countries.
Mr. Goulka earned both an MBA and a BA from Yale.
He has served on many not-for-profit boards, including the Center for the Study of Financial Institutions and Markets and the Associate Board, both at the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.
Mr. Goulka has been a guest lecturer at the business schools at Harvard, Yale, Ohio State, Thunderbird, and Marquette Universities.
Ron Davis
Mr. Davis has over forty years of experience in the computer industry, in positions of corporate management, from start-ups through large software products firms. He has held positions such as CEO, President International, Executive Vice President, Group Vice President, and Regional Manager.
His expertise includes: large scale project management, business process engineering and integration, information engineering for shared knowledge databases, and the development and deployment of improved business systems in support of manufacturing systems.

Mr. Davis has managed major client engagements in various areas, including: the deployment of Shared Knowledge Base capabilities for collaborative development, planning and deployment of Enterprise Resource Management Systems, Business Process Reengineering and Integration, Product Planning and Implementation, and Computer Integrated Manufacturing
(CIM).
Prior to JSS, Mr. Davis held positions, including founder of a software products firm, CEO of two Software Products firms and General Manager of a Telecommunications Hardware and Software Division. He also has over 15 years experience in the creation and development of International Markets, including corporate formation, primarily in Europe and Asia.
His experience includes management of a software products and services firms that increased asset value and implemented growth, management of software product development, marketing, and sales functions, and management of telecommunications hardware and software product development.
